Shenita Peterson Was Pulled Over For Minor Traffic Infraction, Police Discovered over $2.7 Million Worth Of Cocaine In Her Vehicle | September 5

Beaumont: A routine traffic stop on I-10 in Beaumont led to the arrest of Florida Woman Shenita Peterson after police discovered $2,700,000 worth of cocaine in her vehicle.

According to reports, the woman seemed skittish when police first approached the vehicle. A K9 officer was deployed and alerted the deputy to the presence of drugs in the vehicle.

A search of the car revealed 45 individual kilograms of cocaine, which were concealed in the door panels of the vehicle.

This case is being investigated by the Beaumont Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert L. Rawls. According to police, Interstate 10 is a popular route for drug smuggling.

The suspected cocaine has an estimated street value of 2.7 million dollars.

Shenita Peterson was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and taken to jail.
