Armando Colon Got Into Argument With Co-Worker About Trump, Punches Him In The Face | January 12

Clearwater: What started as an argument over the state of the world led to contentious debate and one arrest Wednesday at Clearwater retirement community On Top of the World. Deputies arrested 55-year-old Port Richey man Armando Colon, a maintenance worker at the community, after they said he punched a coworker in the face during an argument over issues he has with President Donald Trump and “recent world issues in Iraq/Iran.”

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Colon and fellow maintenance worker Benjamin Martin were discussing Trump and recent issues in the Middle East just before 10 a.m. Wednesday at one of the sprawling community’s buildings.

Deputies said Colon “became irate” as the argument went on. Martin and two witnesses told deputies Martin tried to leave the area, but Colon punched him the face, cutting him on the left cheek.

Armando Colon was booked into Pinellas County Jail and released Thursday on $500 bail. He faces one misdemeanor charge of simple battery.
