Johnnie Wright Was Arrested After Giving His Mother Unforgettable Mother’s Day Gift; A Home Fire | June 11
Pensacola: Some people like to give their mother a bouquet of flowers for Mother’s Day, while others prefer dinner. Florida man Johnnie Wright got his mother a house fire.
According to police reports Johnnie Wright has been arrested after officials say he intentionally set his mother’s house on fire causing about $20,000 in damage. Firefighters responded on Mother’s Day to 605 Ensley Street to find flames coming from a mobile home.
Wright’s mother said they were at her mother’s house just a few houses away and the two of them got into an argument. She said as her son left he said he would burn her house down. About twenty minutes later, they heard fire trucks and found out her house was on fire.
The investigation determined the fire was the direct result of an intentionally set fire. Wright’s mother said her son has “mental problems” and had threatened to burn her home on previous occasions.
Wright is facing arson charges and is being held with a $100,000 bond.
