Jill Duell Was Arrested After Breaking Into Home, Threatening Homeowner With Pliers | June 20

Leesburg: It seems like a scene out of a movie or TV show. A homeowner was on a vacation and returned to find a strange woman in his home. Florida woman Jill Duell is facing charges after she threatened the homeowner with a pair of pliers.

According to reports the homeowner returned home after an extended vacation and encountered the woman, Jill Duell. The victim—who has not been identified—called 911 and officers responded to the scene.

A police report said it appeared the suspect may have been living in the home while the owner was away. Some furniture and clothes were out of place.

During the 911 call, which was first obtained by WESH-TV, the victim could be heard saying that the woman was fleeing the scene. He assured the police that he was not chasing her.

Local residents expressed concern that someone was able to break into the apartment building. “My heart goes out to her, of course, but I think she definitely needs help,” neighbor Beverly Hughes said.

When police arrested the woman she gave them a fake name. Duell is currently facing charges of burglary and giving false identification to police.
