Why can’t we be friends, why can’t we be friends? Florida man Jeffry Alan Gorton found out the hard way that you shouldn’t waste 911 dispatchers time. According to police the Florida man was arrested after he allegedly repeatedly called 911 because ‘he was lonely and needed someone to talk to.’
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said Jeffrey Alan Gorton called the emergency number 17 times between Wednesday and Thursday. The report says that Gorton was warned that he would be arrested if he continued to call the police.
Trying to call their bluff, he called again after being warned repeatedly. Police responded to the man’s home where was detained and charged with misuse of a 911 system, a misdemeanor.
