Jayson William Martich On Trial For Stealing $17,000 From Meadville Restaurant | October 26

Crawford County: A Florida man is headed to trial on charges that he stole nearly $17,000 in a late-night burglary at Firehouse Tap & Grille earlier this year. Jayson William Martich, 23, of West Palm Beach, Florida, waived his preliminary hearing on four felony charges before Magisterial District Judge Samuel Pendolino on Friday.

Two safes at Firehouse Tap & Grille, 875 Park Ave., were robbed at approximately 2:55 a.m. March 30, according to the probable cause affidavit filed by Meadville police in the case. Video surveillance footage shows a man fitting Martich’s description carrying a backpack and walking directly to both of the safes. The man can be seen opening each safe and taking the $16,738 within.

When the criminal complaint against Martich was filed by police in June, Martich’s whereabouts were unknown.

Jayson William Martich faces a second degree felony charge of burglary and third degree felony charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal trespass. He remains in Crawford County jail in lieu of $35,000 bond.
