Jason Kramer Was Arrested For Driving A Boat While Drunk, Yelling At Jet Skiers And Endangering Manatees | June 24

Marco Island: Drinking while you’re driving a boat is never a good idea. Florida man Jason Kramer found that out after he was arrested over the weekend.

Officers arrested Jason Kramer Saturday after they say he was driving out of control in his boat on Marco Island, even putting manatees at risk.

Kramer was speeding through the water under the influence. He was also swerving out of control and yelling at jet skiers, according to officials. He had to swerve to avoid hitting concrete and was endangering manatees by speeding in their protected no-wake zone. An officer said Kramer even yelled at one of his passengers to jump out of the speeding boat.

Officers were eventually able to pull him over. His passengers admitted they had been drinking. Police found a large amount of empty alcoholic drinks on board.

Kramer’s speech was slurred and eyes bloodshot when he spoke with officers. They said he had to brace himself to stand up. He failed his sobriety test and was later arrested.

Kramer is facing charges for boating under the influence but also for not having the safety equipment required to be on the water, refusing a breathalyzer and having an active warrant out of Collier County.
