A Florida Man Arrested After Stealing Police Vehicle, Leading Police On Chase
Dashcam footage shows a Florida man hopping into a police cruiser. He then takes troopers on a dramatic, 11-mile chase that reached speeds of nearly 150 miles per hour.
According to reports the man, Shane Jensen, had been pulled over by police for a driving infraction. A Florida Patrol officer approached the man who appeared medically distressed.
Officers were waiting for paramedics when Jensen made a dash for the driver’s side of the police vehicle. He then speeds off in the cruiser — weaving in and out of traffic — before he gets stuck in gridlock.
An officer approaches the vehicle and Jensen rode the shoulder to flee the scene. The chase ended when he jumped out of the vehicle and ran into a wooded area.
Police tracked him down and managed to arrest him.
Jensen faces charges for grand theft, high-speed driving, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and reckless driving.
