A Florida Man Set Fire To A Woman’s House, Flees In General Lee Replica

Bo and Luke Duke would be proud. A Florida man was arrested after setting fire to a woman’s house and fleeing the scene in a replica General Lee. The vehicle was painted to look like the General Lee from the TV show the Dukes of Hazzard.

The motives of the man, Oswald Pereira, are currently unknown at this time.

A neighbor was able to capture part of the fire on film as it raged on. She and her husband Larry said they know Pereira from around the neighborhood and said he worked as a jockey.

Pereira fled the scene in the vehicle but was finally caught inside a home in Levy County. He was taken to a hospital in Gainesville with burns on about 15 percent of his body.

This isn’t the man’s first run in with the law. He was arrested on a theft charge last month and charged with aggravated domestic battery for an incident that occurred in February 2018.

He now faces a charge of fleeing and eluding law enforcement, assault on an officer and violating a domestic violence protection order.
