A Florida man was arrested after
leaving deadly crash to ‘drop off his weed’ at home
A Florida man is facing charges after he left the scene of an accident after hitting a pedestrian. According to reports, the man struck the pedestrian, left the scene and then returned a short time later after calling 911.
The man, Terrance Pressey, was on the phone with 911 when he got back to the crash scene and saw paramedics attempting to save the injured pedestrian’s life.
It appears the victim was trying to cross the avenue from west to east when Pressey’s white Dodge Charger hit him. Evidence from the scene suggested that the victim may have been impaired from alcohol.
Pressey originally told officers that he left the scene to drop someone off. He later admitted that no one had been in his car with him and he had to “drop off his weed.”
Instead of just marijuana possession and perhaps a traffic charge — Pressey is now charged with failing to stop at an accident with a death, a felony, as well as misdemeanor possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis.
