Elijah Cantrell Argues With Family Member, Hits Them Multiple Times, Flees From Home, Hides In Dirt Field, Gets Arrested | July 23
Belleview: What started as a family squabble led to the arrest of one man. According to reports Elijah Cantrell was arrested after an argument with a family member led to him striking the victim multiple times.
Witnesses who reported the incident told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that the argument between Elijah Cantrell and the victim started in the living room. It then carried out to the back porch and then back into the home. The witness said that Cantrell and the victim were in each other’s faces, but the altercation was not physical up to that point.
According to reports the victim was cleaning up glass in the kitchen area when Cantrell entered through the back door and started hitting him. The victim said Cantrell hit him all over the left side of his face and body.
The deputy observed redness on the left side of the victim’s face and yellow bruising under his left eye.
The deputy found Cantrell hiding in a dirt field about 75 yards behind the residence. He said he and the victim were in an argument when he lost it and started swinging at the victim.
Elijah Cantrell was arrested and is charged with simple domestic battery.
